Oh My Goddess 21

February 26, 2006

I must say, after reading this one I much prefer Dark Horse’s old method of compiling graphic novels that contain an entire story arc. Even though I’m sure the conclusion isn’t as epic as I’m made to believe, I do want to know how things turn out between Hild and Peorth.

I really liked this volume. The story does seem to slowly be shedding its NIT stories in favor of ones that involve the Goddesses more. Here we get to meet the CEO of Hell, which is supremely awesome, especially since the only full-fledged demons we’ve met so far are Mara, Velsper, and occasionally Urd. I also liked having mini-Peorth around, as I like Peorth, and I certainly do like the way Belldandy treats mini-Peorth.

But yes, I miss not having the entire story arc in a single volume. I lack the money to go out and buy volume 22, and even if I did, I wouldn’t have volume 23 to follow it up with. I also want those sexy new editions of the first volumes, as the color pages and new covers make me drool. The thought of buying the whole series over again doesn’t please me, especially since I just shelled out for the five volumes before this right before I heard about the reissues, but damn are they awesome. Let’s see how I feel about this series when I have money again.
