+Anima 2

Natsumi Mukai – Tokyopop – 2006 – 10 volumes total

I love this series, I really do. People turning into animals has always fascinated me for whatever reason, and I really like light fantasy series. Plus the characters are all quite charming, if a little shallow at this point.

But this volume made me SO MAD. The second half of it is “parallel universe” stories done before the series actually started running. I hate it when the main story is cut off in a volume in favor of some extra from the mangaka, always have, always will. The material is at least related, and it stars early versions of all four main characters, but we know next to nothing about these characters, there’s no plot going as of yet, and we get a half volume of side stories a volume and a half into the series. Thanks.

And that’s my feelings on that. I’m so bummed out that I’ll have to wait until December for volume 3, I love this series so hard other than the side stories and the long waits… it’s actually probably up with my top five current series. Scratch that, it DEFINITELY is, and there’s not much I can say about why it is other than it has a really unique flavor to it that’s whimsical and the characters are really well done if, as I said earlier, a little shallow. I love Cooro, I love Husky, I love them all.

It really is one of my favorite series running right now. I can’t even pinpoint what I like so much about it, but it seems like it does everything right ^_^

I can’t exactly remember what went on in this volume since I’ve read it. I’ve read so much other manga after this one that I’m racking my brain to remember what happened. I do know however, that I simply LOVE LOVE LOVE this manga. I’ve read as much as they’ve put out. I hear its not done yet but I haven’t really kept up. I like the whole supernatural fantasy thing they have going on here
