DN Angel 11

I decided not to save this one and to just get it out of the way while I was reading the rest of the series anyway.  I wound up liking the storyline a bit better here.

There’s still mostly just a ton of exposition and no action, but we do get a few interesting details thrown our way.  If the pure emotion of love summons Dark, can Dark also be summoned by hate, and if he can, what would that do?  Are Risa and Riku naturally linked because they are twins, or is it a spell?  Everyone seems to be getting very serious in this volume, including Daisuke’s parents.

We get very little in the way of concrete explanation, but there is a possibility of a Krad/Dark merge, and I kind of like that, if it ever happens.  We’ll see.  I would like to see more of this series, honestly.  I didn’t like it very much, but I’m sad to see it end in the middle of a story arc which has built itself up so intensely and hasn’t even gotten to pay off this buildup with action yet.

I watched the first little bit of the DN Angel anime and didn’t really like it. I’m a hard customer when it comes to anime though, I judge it a bit more harshly. What storylines does the anime go through?

I’m still kind of sad this series still doesn’t have an end.

I don’t remember a lot of the details from the anime, but I did stall out on the manga around volume 4, with the intention of going back to it eventually.

I will say that the anime has an absolutely beautiful ending song (if there are two, it’s the one about Spring (Haru)) – that I still remember years later.

i have a really hard time with the whole art theif plot that surprisingly a lot of anime/manga have. my friend loaned me the first 4 volumes and i couldn’t even start volume 4. it was soo stupid. she’s in love with the series but it bores me to death.

I didn’t really like this one either (I got this far mostly because I’m a completest), but I really did like Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, which is also an art thief-kinda series. It had its ups and downs, and I would always forget that I liked it, and really the biggest plot twist comes completely out of nowhere and is annoying, but it was a really cute romance.

uh..well i haven’t really read the manga…but yeah kinda disappointed by how the anime ended..i mean seriously ONLY 26 eps!!! It was kinda good, but yeah the ending was kinda…not good, it leaves u with so many things to wonder about x.X

Personally I liked this manga and am disappointed with the lack of an ending but the article on wikipedia says the mangaka will be continuing the series after her absince

  8. Connie says:

Yeah, hopefully she’ll come back to it eventually. It’s been stalled for quite some time though, I don’t think she’s written anything new for it since 2005.

Oh wow, I just was trying to look up a date for it, and it looks like it started again in the most recent issue of Asuka. How about that.

I think the series is okay, not one of my absolute favourites, but alright. I hear the mangaka is going to continue the story, so hopefully it’ll be published in english sometime soon.
