One Piece 10

Once again, I would much rather be discussing Brooke, or maybe Dragon, and most definitely zombies (wtf?!) but we gotta wait awhile for that. Right now, we’re still dealing with Arlong.
I read two volumes together, and I was worried that I wouldn’t remember which was which, but One Piece thankfully follows the same formula with all its battles – Luffy is incapacitated for this volume while Usopp, Zoro, and Sanji fight the fish men. Next volume is Luffy’s fight with Arlong, though things start getting warmed up in the last chapter of this volume.
The fights here were a little less enjoyable. Sanji was the only one who was enjoying a fair fight. Zoro had to worry about a huge chest wound and not being able to use three swords, Nami wasn’t fighting, and Usopp… well, Usopp has his ways, and usually his fights are a bit more entertaining, this one was over pretty quickly though. It was fought in true Usopp style though, and there was fire involved, so that was pretty cool.
Luffy was kept at the bottom of the sea most of the time, and at one point the villagers help him breathe by stretching his head above water and giving him CPR half above and half below until he coughed up all his seawater. Luffy got the coolest moment in the volume during his fight, though. When Arlong was showing off his shark teeth, Luffy stole a pair and put them in place of his own teeth, then Arlong took two sets in either fist and went after Luffy. It was the kind of goofy awesome that only One Piece allows itself.
