Dragon Ball 21

We get a little of the old series back here as many quirky and funny things happen in order to bring Kuririn, Gohan, and Bulma to Namek.  Once they get there, we get Z traits back as everyone cowers in fear of other’s strength and strength levels are masked in order to hide, blah blah blah…

Perhaps I should be reading Dr. Slump if I don’t like this sort of thing.  But dammit, I’m going to read the best-selling manga in history all the way through regardless of how I feel.

Anyway, I was quite amused when Bulma blows up a spaceship on live TV, and I also thought it was pretty cool when she and her dad had to fix up an older spaceship and how it was controlled… basically all the in-between parts, including the trip up to Namek, were pretty awesome.

Some preliminary sparring occurs,  and unfortunately I know this is a prelude to one of the most boring 10-14 episodes of anime I’ve ever seen (where, inexplicably, whole episodes worth of fighting go by in less than a minute of Dragon Ball time where we are forced to watch as a countdown keeps… not counting down to an explosion), but fortunately once we pass this storyline I stopped watching the anime, so after that let’s hope I’ll be surprised by what goes on and I’ll like it more.
