Oh My Goddess 25

Let me tell you, this Lind story was worth sitting through every single boring story this series has dished up so far. It was FANTASTIC, and pulled off great and epic feats I would not have thought this series capable of.

At this point, we’ve got Keiichi living with Bell, Skuld, Urd, and Peorth. Why Peorth is still there, I don’t know. In the last chapter of 24, Lind, another female Goddess (a Valkyrie, warrior-class Goddess) comes down and starts living with them until the mystery of the “angel-eater” is resolved. Of course, the ruckus is caused by the newly minted badness queen Hild herself (a slight spoiler, but you find out she’s behind it fairly early on), along with Mara. Everyone summons their angels too, and Lind has two angels. Let’s see, that’s… 13 women with Keiichi, plus another creature of questionable gender that COULD be female that gets summoned later, and a genderless angel-eater. Keiichi has a really weird, dopey role to play most of the time, but aside from it being really dopey, it’s also awesome because he gets to wield the power of a Goddess, which is never a bad thing.

The fights are really awesome and creative this time around, mostly because the big guns of Peorth, Belldandy, and Urd are disabled early on, so the characters who are less experienced and we are not as familiar with are the ones fending off the epic foe this time. I really liked that approach, and even though Skuld is probably my least favorite character, her role was pretty good this time.

I did not recognize Hild, as she was in small child form and missing most of the seal jewelry that was pointed out when she debuted a few volumes ago. But I still like her a lot, even though it was somewhat odd that the rather nice character we met last time was the one causing all this rukus. To be fair though, she IS the Queen of Hell, so I can’t be too surprised.
