Boogiepop Dual 1

July 18, 2007

How did I forget to write about this? I read it either in January or June while I was home. I’m guessing it was January. I’m going to remember next to nothing about these volumes… I actually had to read the preview at Seven Seas to remember what the plot of the series was.

There was a boy who becomes Boogiepop this time around, which is a welcome change, actually. I liked that character a lot, and I liked the doctor that was his childhood friend and bizarre love interest.

I seem to remember a totally badass scene in this volume where, as Boogiepop, this kid beats up a huge crowd of bullies. I remember regretting waiting so long to read this when I read that scene.

I also thought this was a much more worthwhile series than Boogiepop Doesn’t Laugh. I’m not sure where this one falls on the Boogiepop timeline (ie if it appears in a later book), but not having read this particular story in novel form, I found it much more enjoyable than the other one which just rehashed what the novel did better.
