Dragon Ball 23
Posted: August 20, 2007 Filed under: Dragon Ball Leave a comment »Ugh. Wouldn’t you know it, Viz just announced they’re releasing a kazenban-like edition of Dragon Ball. Hmm. I wish I could get those, but I’m already more than halfway through the series in these editions, so I’ll just finish it off so I can get the cool spine illustrations. I hope these editions hang around long enough for that.
The real problem is that I just cannot get fired up about this Namek storyline, so I’m dreading reading the five volumes I just got in last weekend (courtesy of the last Right Stuf Viz sale, just so you don’t think I periodically feel compelled to buy a big slug of Dragon Ball Z). I forgot about the Ginyu Force though, so that at least brought some novelty back to this volume.
Still no Goku. He’s… really why I like this series, and only when he’s being goofy. There’s probably no more of that, unfortunately, but I can hope. There’s lots of Vegeta teasing Freeza, and Gohan teasing Vegeta, then some fights at the end of the volume with the Ginyu Force, who is bummed when their poses get thrown off.
Yeah. That’s about all the excitement I can muster this time around. We’ll see if things get cooler further down the road, but I really think I’m going to have to get past this stuff I’ve already been over story-wise.
