After School Nightmare 5

Setona Mizushiro – Go!Comi – 2007 – 10 volumes

Ooh.  I was a little bummed by this volume because it had much less Sou/Ichijo action than I would like.  There was one or two dream sequences (including one that Ichijo totally dominates), but a lot of what happens in this volume revolves around what would appear to be a big background reveal for Sou coming up next volume.  Or, at least, I hope so.  There was a ton of tension between Sou and Ichijo since they both outright rejected one another.

Kureha seems to be doing much better lately, though.  It seems like she’s overcome her biggest fears, and she seems relatively happy and healthy.  I kind of wonder if maybe she’ll graduate soon, or graduate without Ichijo.  That would be very interesting.

The black knight was revealed this volume.  Maybe.  The way all the characters talk about it, I wonder if what they say is true.  I can think of one other character in the dream world which hasn’t been identified yet.

Now that I got two volumes of this back to back, I’m going to be so bummed by the wait for volume 6.  This is one of the best ongoing series I’m reading right now.

This is another one I’m hoarding. I read recently that it’s going to end serialization soon, and so may end up being a 10-volume series.

10 volumes will be a nice length for it. It’s good to know things won’t be stretched out for too much longer. This is another good one to hoard though, it’s also really addictive.

Yeah, apparently there are 10 volumes. I agree with you on the knight, I suspected the kendo sempai… and the hand dreamer still hasn’t been identified yet! I was sure that was Sou! *is disapointed*
Maybe the kendo sempai will turn out to be the hands, lol.

They just now got to the hands in the most recent volume I read, 6 or 7. I actually liked that person quite a bit, they gave Mashiro a much-needed break from some really intense drama.

I guess it was volume 6 that I read most recently. Man I love this series. I just looked at the cover for volume 7, and I can’t really tell from the small image, but it looks like Sou’s sister is holding Mashiro and the blurb mentions that Mashiro seeks solace from “an unlikely source.” That proves she exists, I guess XD

Yea actually I’m waiting for my volume 6 to come..It’s supposed to be comming today but it hasn’t. I stole my copy from a friend. Anyway, This was a pretty interesting volume, however, by the end of this volume I was VERY annoyed. I really don’t like how Mashiro comes up with a answer to his problems and when he decides to say what he feels. I always feel like he’s going about his problems the wrong way. But, besides that, he is my second favorite character next to Sou. lol.

I’ve always wondered what happened to a person after they graduate. I guess this is the wrong place to say this but you remember when that little boy genius was admitted to the dream class. Well when he graduated, it seems like something unexpected happened. He plunged face foward into darkness with a surprised face. That got my mind churning about exactly what happens when you graduate. Another thing I’ve wondered about is who exactly is the “hand(s)” in the dream. By this time, we pretty much figured who everyone in the dream is except for the hand(s). I feel like the hand(s) is a bit sympathetic to Mashiro.

I also heard that there were to be 10 volumes, but recently I have read that it is still an ongoning series in Japan and that they are planning to make more volumes. I don’t know if the source I read from was right or not but I was glad to read it.

The hands are revealed in volume 6. The owner isn’t a surprise or anything, but it does make for a good story.

The series does end with 10 volumes, I think. It definitely finished its serialization at the end of last year, and the author has a new series running in the magazine. I’m pretty sure that the 10th volume has all the final chapters in it since it came out shortly after the last chapter ran.
