Moon Child 6

The sense of humor in this series is such that you’re not sure whether or not certain things are supposed to be funny or disturbing. This comes up every once in awhile, like when Teruto/Gil has renamed his dog “Seth” and refuses to acknowledge to the staff members that he has been calling the dog anything else. Nothing that Teruto does can be construed as funny, exactly, but sometimes his deranged behavior is hilarious all the same.
Some things are just very funny and hit their mark. I didn’t remember that Jimmy had told Art about his gender last volume, so the first page made me sit and stare at it as I comprehended the fairy princess drawing. There’s a long string of jokes after this, mostly having to do with Art discussing buying new underwear for Jimmy and, later, Jimmy not wanting to waste the pretty girl’s underwear by wearing it under his pants.
Lots of major plot things happen. Jimmy’s femininity drives Art away a little bit and makes him feel guilty, Shonach and Seth start to get buddy-buddy, and Teruto starts to organize some sort of dance tour in Russia/Ukraine that involves Holly and Art. The business between Seth and Shonach is what interested me the most, because… well, at this point Jimmy and Art seem like a sure thing, so of course things are going to pick up between those two.
Also, Art and Benjamin once again pass each other like ships in the night, which drives me crazy. One day, the two of them will figure out what to do about Benjamin, but apparently this doesn’t happen soon.
