Skip Beat 11

We finally get to see Ren have some sort of weakness, which pleased me quite a bit. He pretty much ran into the problem that the president warned him about, and he kind of loses himself. The drama goes on without him as he sorts things out, and Kyoko is admired for her acting skills, but it’s just not the same without Ren.
Bo shows up to have a talk with Ren, which was hilarious once again. I like that Kyoko has kind of fallen back to this as a “help Ren” strategy, but I was under the impression that Ren kind of knew who Bo was. I guess I was mistaken though, because he doesn’t show any sign of it here.
Combined with the Bo stuff, we get half a volume of Ren/Kyoko moments. While not as excellent as volume 6, there is still a lot of stuff mixed in there, not the least of which is that neither of them consider the other a love interest, and it’s SO AGONIZING to read. Nakamura is making us work for this couple, dammit. It doesn’t stop the scenes from being adorable, especially when Ren uses the “gentleman smile” and Kyoko makes comments about how bullying her will make Ren feel better.
The last page is to die for. I always feel like I need to read the next volume IMMEDIATELY after I finish one of these. It’s really amazing.
