Cantarella 9

Man, I think my main problem with this series is that I want it to go a lot faster than it’s paced. That’s not really its problem, I think I just expect action and am getting a romance story instead.
A lot of the romantic elements I was most uncomfortable with have abated somewhat, but in their place new complications have arose. I was a big fan of when Cesare and Chiaro were allies, but it looks like that might be gone forever. Chiaro figures less in this volume since he’s mostly recovering from injuries and laying low… and really, I guess Cesare is less prominent too, but he does show up occasionally to menace Lucrezia.
Most of the volume is about Lucrezia and her marriage to Alfonzo. Lucrezia is probably my least favorite character, so I can’t get that excited whenever she figures heavily into the plot, but I like Alfonzo a lot. I like his sister Sancia a lot as well, even though I probably shouldn’t. Those two are probably the most genuine real people characters in the series, and they do a good job of keeping their emotions guarded instead of breaking down into sobbing drama-tastic fits, and they react well even to the worst situations.
My favorite part of the volume, actually, was the short story at the end which was about Alfonzo and Sancia and an incident in their childhood. That story was quite excellent.

Hey. Umm… I started reading Cantarella today. Absolutely love it but that’s not the point. The point is, I could only find 7 volumes to read so I was dying from curiousity bout what the other 3 volumes had to offer. So thanks for abetting it at least a bit =D And for letting me know that Lucrezia is outta the Cesare/Chiaro scene! YAY!!! Not that there’s much of that going on either but *sigh*.

Mmm, I wouldn’t say she’s totally out of it yet. Alfonzo is pretty lax when it comes to watching her, and he’s a fan of Lucrezia/Chiaro, so I’m a little leery of where that’s going. There were a few things which made me think that Chiaro may be shifting focus back to Cesare (he speaks to Niccolo again), but I have a feeling there’s still plenty of Chiaro/Lucrezia to come. Unfortunately.

I thought that’s something out at vol 1-4
Why don’t Lucrezia die in anyway??
I hate her (seriously)
Give Chiarro back to Cesare!!!

So true, so true. I mean I want more of Cesar/Chiaro and right now it’s on hiatus. -_-’. I’m so annoyed. Ugh, Lucrecie is also my least fav character. She really annoys me. I’m still only at volume 7, though, but I doubt I will like her more. Pff why does he need her when here is Cesar? I would chosse Cesar for sure! He is made for him!!!!

Haha, I almost forgot about this series, I haven’t read a new volume in a long time. I think volume 10 just came out, too. I am really curious how Cesare’s situation will continue.
I wonder if this is running again. If I remember right, she put it on hiatus to draw Crown, which ended last summer. I know it’s not in the same magazine Crown used to be in right now, though.
