We actually only get through one or two of the battles in the next round, and nothing I didn’t expect happened. Well, actually, I was kind of surprised by the outcome of Suguru’s match. Suguru, while being kind of likable, just begs for the smirk to be wiped off his rich boy face.
Also, I should mention the smell of coffee makes me physically ill. The thought of it seasoning food turned my stomach while I was reading this.
One of the contestants uses brains in their dishes. It is… unexpected, and a bit out of character, to say the least. Seeing the big trays of calf brains was also sort of odd. This ranks up with the gutted pidgeons and the pet dog that got thrown into the pot in the last competition as the most intense cooking action I’m likely to see in a manga.
Evil food like that is one of the reasons I love this series so much. That and the fact that I’m pretty sure the main character would just spit in my face, were he a real person.
