Reading this series gives me an inordinate amount of pleasure. The whole big stinky fish thing as the cliffhanger last time tickled me, and the whole “we’re not eating your food because it’s too spicy!” argument from the judges to up the drama had me laughing. That combined with what happened with Ransei’s judging at the end.
Mostly this was just dramatic build-up, though, so there’s not that much for me to say about it. I was unaware that the sauces that Jan and Ransei were using were spicy sauces. The translation listed a different name for them last volume, but a more literal name this volume. I don’t mind the literal translation so much since I understand what it is they’re talking about now, but it’s a little weird it changed from one volume to the next.
