One wonders where the series is going after this game. I mean, I think it’s a given that they will win since the team to beat next is the Seibu Wild Gunmen, the only other team they lost to. But what after that? The Christmas Bowl? And then, the end? Hmm.
Also, I know this series pretends like there is a football player somewhere that looks good in a maid costume, but I don’t think this is true. I think one of the requirements to playing football is that you cannot look good in one, as a matter of fact. Sakuraba is no exception.
Eye shield 21 doesn’t make any sense, I’ve played real football, this is like a retard thinking about how he knows football. I’ve played football for the #3 team in the nation, #1 in state. This is utter bullshit, in some matches, that one big guy and don fight in the middle of the field even when a play hasn’t been called. Also when Shin was attacked? For what reason? Don is a center, centers don’t charge people, he’s offensive, it makes no sense at all.
Yeah, some of the mechanics seemed a little off to me too, and I only sort of casually watch football. I think a lot of these sports manga break the rules of the game, though, so some suspension of disbelief is required to enjoy them. Technicalities like the ones you mentioned do bother me a lot sometimes, though.
